We’ll pay a visit to Ananuri, which is actually a castle complex on the Aragvi River. In 2007, the complex was on the tentative list for inclusion into the UNESCO World Heritage site program. We’ll then proceed to travel to Panorama, “Georgia & Russia Friendship Monument” and enjoy incredible views. We’ll visit “Acidic waters”. We will visit the Stepantsminda Region. In Kazbegi, we’ll take a look at Gergeti Trinity Church. (4×4 drive is not included) The Gergeti Trinity Church is constructed in the 14th century and is the only cross-cupola church in Khevi province. The distinct bell tower dates from the same period as the church itself. Its remote location on top of a high mountain encompassed by the vastness of nature makes it a symbol for Georgia. Accompanied by a hotel drop. Overnight: Hotel stays in Tbilisi.
We will check out from the hotel. Then we start with the Mtskheta tour and drive towards Mtskheta City, Mtskheta is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with fascinating mountainous views. Here we enjoy the amazing view of two rivers Mtkvari and Aragvi, explore Jvari Monastery and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral – the first and the main church in Georgia. We will have a short lunch break and then we will visit the Georgian Orthodox Church, “Holy Trinity” located in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. Constructed between 1995 and 2004, it is the third-tallest Eastern Orthodox cathedral in the world and one of the largest religious buildings in the world by total area. After seeing “Holy Trinity Church.” You will then visit Metekhi church and the monument to Vakhtang Gorgasali, the legendary founder of Tbilisi. Take a cable car to Narikala Fortress to enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the city. Narikala is an ancient fortress overlooking Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, and the Kura River. The fortress consists of two walled sections on a steep hill between the sulphur baths. We will visit the Mother of Georgia Monument. Walk down to the district of Sulphur bath houses passing by the only mosque in Tbilisi. We will visit the “Legvtakhevi waterfall “ in Old Tbilisi. We will visit Metekhi, which is a historic district of Tbilisi, Georgia, located on the elevated cliff that overlooks the Mtkvari river. Stroll through the Sharden area full of narrow streets with cozy cafés, wine tasting bars, souvenir shops, and breathe in the living past.
